Sirolimus: Immunosuppressive drug

This medicine helps treat patients with prophylaxis of organ rejection in renal transplantation, in patients at low- to the moderate-immunologic risk and at high-immunologic risk. The trade name for this medicine is Rapamune. The active ingredient in the Sirolimus tablets is Sirolimus and inactive ingredients are sucrose, lactose, polyethylene glycol 8000, calcium sulfate, microcrystalline cellulose, pharmaceutical glaze, talc, titanium dioxide, magnesium stearate, povidone, poloxamer 188, polyethylene glycol 20,000, glyceryl monooleate, carnauba wax, dl-alpha tocopherol, and other ingredients. 

Sirolimus tablets come in the strengths of 0.5 mg, 1 mg, and 2 mg. The general dosage is to administer Sirolimus 0.5 mg orally once a day, consistently with or without food. Like other medicines, Sirolimus also has side effects which can be common or severe.
